We are eagerly awaiting the release of the all-electric Hummer pickup. It will be available in different trim levels and with different output variants. Edition 1 will again be the first with the highest output, and also the most expensive. We are still waiting for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2, the most affordable SUV. It will have a lower but still powerful engine and will offer a lot of performance.
This version will not have many differences from the rest of the lineup, except for the powertrain. A classic SUV design will be seen, which has a bold and muscular stance. This contrasts with the futuristic cabin design that offers plenty of space and tech features. The 2024 GMC Hummer EV2 is most likely to arrive in the first quarter of 2024.
2024 GMC Hummer EV2 Review
The base version of the new EV SUV will be the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2. It will be affordable, so it won’t have too complicated a system. This version will be powered by 400-volt technology while the rest will use an 800-volt system. This version will have a dual motor setup with a maximum output of 625 horses, instead of the 830-hp drivetrain. Although the company claims the maximum torque will be 7.400 lb-ft, they estimate that real-world numbers will reach around 700 pound-feet.
The new Ultium technology can support up to 200 kWh in battery capacity. However, this version will likely have a pack of about 167kWh which should give you a maximum range of approximately 250 miles. Although the company claims to charge speeds of 300 kW, we don’t yet know if these speeds will be available on base models.
The 2024 GMC Hummer EV2 will not be any different from higher trims in design. The overall design of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2 will remain the same as the pickup version, but the wheelbase may be shorter. This is a typical SUV layout with familiar aesthetics.
The pickup’s exterior will have most of its aesthetics identical, at least the front. The same grille and headlights will be used, closely replicating previous generations of the nameplate. The SUV’s body design will make the rear end look very different. The standard equipment will include a full-sized spare wheel and taillights on the rear doors.
We can also refer to the pickup model. The overall cabin design and dashboard look identical. The dash has a futuristic design and is complemented by large screens that replace many of the physical controls. There are also classic design options, like the traditional gear lever. There are also a few details that commemorate GM’s involvement in the Apollo space program, like the pickup.
Despite its size, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2 will not have three rows of seating. The vehicle will be available as a 5-seater with several very spacious rows of seats that can comfortably accommodate adults. It will have a large cargo area, with 82 cubic yards of total cargo volume. You may also get a removable roof or other body panels to make the SUV very customizable.
The EV2 is a basic version of the new SUV. However, it will come with a lot of features. There are two large screens mounted on the dashboard, as we have already mentioned. The dashboard features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.4-inch infotainment display. This screen replaces many but still has a lot of physical controls. It makes it much simpler to operate. You will also find Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. The base trim will include Bose stereo and built-in navigation. There will also be wireless charging and rear seat infotainment systems.
A decent amount of safety features will be included in the standard equipment list. Some of these include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assistance, automatic emergency brake, forward-collision warning, and pedestrian detection.
Range, Charging, & Battery Life
Every Hummer can take advantage of GM’s new Ultium technology. This makes it more environmentally friendly than the gas-guzzling H2 or H2 SUT. The base EV2 model comes with a standard 400-volt electric system. However, every trim can also have an 800-volt system. GM has already stated that the Hummer EV’s battery pack will be large, but we don’t yet know its exact size or usable capacity. We expect the Hummer EV to have a driving range of at least 250 miles, thanks to fast charging speeds of up to 300 kW.
Fuel Economy and Real World MPGe
Although the EPA has not yet reported the Hummer EV’s fuel economy estimates, we expect it will be close to the Hummer EV UT pickup truck’s 51 MPGe in the city, 43 MPGe on the highway, and 47 MPGe together. We’ll be taking the Hummer SUV SUV on our 75-mph highway fuel-efficiency route, and updating this story with the results.
Infotainment & Connectivity
The Hummer’s cutting-edge electric technology will be enhanced by a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and extensive connectivity options. Like most GMC models, the Hummer will come standard with desirable content like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot.
Upgrades available include a Bose stereo, integrated navigation, rear-seat infotainment, and wireless charging. A 6.0-kW generator is available on the SUV Hummer that can power any type of equipment, and even charge other EVs.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The Hummer EV SUV will feature an enhanced version of GM’s Super Cruise, which will enable hands-free driving on the roads. It will also feature the same driver-assist technology found in many mainstream models. 2024 GMC Hummer EV2 Release Date and Prices
The EV2 will not be joining the lineup. The range-topping Edition 1 is nearly here, but the 2024 GMC Hummer EV2 will not arrive until the first half of 2024. The SUV’s most affordable variant will start at 80.000 dollars.
