A rumor that circulates online claims that the order banks for the 2024 Ford Ranger will open on 26 May 2023. This is an interesting rumor, given that Ford Motor Company did not disclose any information regarding the Ranger’s American version. The brand-new midsize Ford pickup truck will feature several updates, and it is expected to take inspiration from the global Ford Ranger that was revealed last year. Engine
Ford has completely redesigned the mid-size Ranger truck for the 2024 model, giving it a more aggressive front-end style that is influenced by Ford’s larger F-150. Ford sells its Ranger truck in certain foreign markets using a turbo diesel engine. The American model, however, uses the same turbocharged four-cylinder 2.3-liter engine that is currently in the truck. This will be the case again in 2024. The lineup was expanded this year with a powerful twin-turbo V-6 gasoline engine. Both engines are available in rear-wheel or four-wheel drives.
Towing and Payload Capacity
The Ranger can tow 7500 pounds regardless of the engine. With a four-wheel-drive, the maximum payload rating is 1711 pounds instead of 1805 pounds for rear-wheel-drive models.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

Interior
The Ranger cabin is given a new look, with textured dashboard trim and honeycomb-patterned vents. The infotainment unit now includes the majority of the truck’s controls and buttons. Ford has integrated several interior storage options into the design of the new Ranger, including a hidden upper glovebox in the dashboard and larger door pockets. There is also storage under the rear seat. This time, the only body style is the SuperCrew Crew Cab with four full-size doors and seating for five.
Connectivity and Infotainment
The standard infotainment screen is 10.1 inches, but those who are more tech-savvy can upgrade to a 12.4-inch vertically oriented screen. Ford’s Sync 4 interface is available on both devices and allows access to all the Ranger controls.
This includes activating a zone-lighting function that illuminates the outside of the vehicle to help light up a work site or to provide illumination for setting up camp at night. All models get either an 8.0-inch or a 12.4-inch digital gauge display. Apple CarPlay is standard, as are Android Auto and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
Ranger is equipped with basic driver assistance features, but for more advanced technology you will need to upgrade or add an option package. The options packages for these systems are affordable. Safety features include:
- Automatic emergency braking and standard forward collision warning

2024 Ford Ranger Price & Release Date
In my next article, I will have much more to say about the Ranger and the Raptor. This new truck, which has a starting price of $34,160 (Ranger Raptor is $56,960), looks like an update. The mid-size truck segment is no longer content to rest on its laurels. There are now more powertrain choices, an exterior that looks different, and an interior that looks fresher.
The 2024 Ford Ranger is expected to only come in one trim level, XL. Rumors suggest that a Ford Ranger Raptor model will be available, as well as a plug-in hybrid or electric truck.
