The twelfth-generation Toyota Corolla was introduced in 2018. Given the six-year-long life cycle of the series, it should retire in 2024. It is expected that the thirteenth-generation model will replace it in 2025. We expect the Toyota Corolla Hybrid 2025 to be a hybrid.
2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Redesign
Toyota sedans are bolder and more classy than ever, whether it’s the Crown flagship, the Camry, or the popular Corolla. There are still some models with more sporty fascias, but overall the look is maturing. Our exclusive rendering below shows that we expect the Toyota Corolla 2025 to sport a more sophisticated and intense design.
The 2025 Toyota Corolla will feature a more luxurious design, drawing inspiration from larger Toyotas such as the Crown and bZ5. The striking front end is more formal with slim headlamps and an upper grille in its upper portion. This fits in with the new Hammerhead design philosophy. The lower grille serves as the main cooling source and is larger and more edgy. This grille gives the sedan a more sophisticated appearance. The new bumper features muscular contours at the sides that communicate power and enhance road presence.
The roofline on the sides is identical to the previous model. New and more stylish is the greenhouse. It features a new belt line, which starts straight and ends with sharp curves. The 2025 Corolla’s rear should have slimmer combination lamps, new bumpers, and a brand-new tailgate.
Refresh
The 2025 Toyota Corolla will get a stylistic overhaul and some technological upgrades. Toyota has enhanced the touchscreen interface to offer more features than the old system. Navigation is available and there are more powerful voice commands for many car features (“Hi, Toyota”), and you can receive updates over the air for new features and improvements. It supports wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 will be available on the Corolla. This is the latest driver assistance software from Toyota. This upgrade is an improvement on the previous generation suite that was included in the 2022 model. Although the feature set is identical, Toyota claims that the system detects hazards better. The popular LE trim is now an entry-level trim and includes a stronger standard engine.
Colors
On the New 2025 Toyota Corolla, attractive colors will also be available in Underground and Midnight Black Metallic.
Interior
The 2025 Toyota Corolla’s cabin has an upgraded to provide a 34.8-inch rear legroom. The 13.1 cubic feet of luggage storage is large enough to hold three golf bags.
The 2025 Toyota Corolla’s dashboard is clean and high quality. The lower trim comes with fabric upholstery while the higher version has a simulated leather seat surface. The 2025 Toyota Corolla XLE will be the first trim with a leather steering wheel. Ambient cab lighting is available on the XLE, XSE, and XSE. The top trim features a configurable 7-inch driver information display.
Exterior
LED daytime running lights were added to the new Corolla. The SE, XSE, and XLE models now have redesigned LED headlights. The Toyota Corolla is fitted with a 2025 rear bumper and new LE rear diffuser trim. 18-inch alloy wheels with gloss Graphite finish adorn the SE or XSE models.
Specs & Engine
The Toyota Corolla LE trim will be upgraded to a 139-horsepower, 1.8-liter engine in 2025. This means that every new Corolla will use a 2.0-liter unit producing 169 horsepower. Special treatment is given to the automatic transmission.
The continuously variable transmission (CVT), which is often criticized, has been improved by Toyota. It responds better when it’s moving from rest and the Sport mode. The SE and XSE have paddle shifters underneath their steering wheels, which allow the driver to shift between 10 simulated modes if they feel the need. 2025 Toyota Corolla SE & XSE have a sportier suspension than their stable Corolla counterparts.
The future Corolla could borrow the TNGA C platform from the fifth-gen Prius. This platform upgrade should result in a lower center of gravity and larger 19-inch wheels. The redesigned car will have more reinforcement which should result in increased rigidity, quietness, and strength.
The redesigned model will feature a Hybrid version, just like the old car. The next-generation Toyota Corolla could have an electrified version that uses the 1.8-liter 2ZR/FXE engine-based series-parallel hybrid system. Toyota increased the combined powertrain’s power output from 121 to 138 horsepower in the second quarter of 2022. The updated version was introduced in the 12th-gen Corolla hybrid variant in the U.S., with the MY2023 upgrade. It seems unlikely that there will be another performance update in the next two years.
The company also introduced the fifth-generation Prius’s newly revised powertrain in other markets. There could be efficiency-related minor tweaks to ensure that the redesigned car has a better EPA-est. Fuel economy is better than the previous model’s combined 50 MPG (FWD)/48 MPG(AWD).
