2025 Mini Cooper Electric: What We Know So Far

Bismillah August 2, 2023

The classic British Mini is one of the nation’s most enduring automotive names that was first introduced in 1959. Although it’s more than a German brand these days the British still buy the most Minis more than other nations and will sell 46,000 units in 2022, surpassing Mini’s 40,000 units that were sold in Germany. Mini sold 290,000 vehicles in 2022, which is a less expensive option to purchase a BMW-built car. But, there’s an important figure that’s hidden in the numbers.

Mini has sold 43,700 electrified models by 2022. This is a staggering 25% increase over 2021, as the Mini Cooper SE continues to be the most affordable model in the market for electric vehicles. The 2025 Mini Cooper SE has quickly become a major player in the EV market, even though it has outdated metrics that were taken from the 2013 BMW i3. But 2024 is an era of fourth-generation Mini Cooper. Mini Cooper, and with it, a more well-established Mini Electric boasting superior range and performance.

2025 Mini Cooper Electric

In 2025, the Mini Cooper Electric features a familiar look that is exclusive to this British hatchback. The letterbox-shaped windshield and the boxy style remain as striking as ever in the coming Mini Cooper, but there are a few extra features to help bring the hatchback into the modern age.

Mini’s most significant changes are to the rear of the iconic compact, which has discarded the earlier Union Jack taillights for a set of LEDs that are shaped like triangles. The final change on the front is a pair of sharp lines that run across the hood. They lead to updated headlights that are reminiscent of Mini Cooper models of old. 2025 Mini Cooper Electric is taking the iconic design of the brand to a new level, making use of the 2025 Mini Cooper Electric’s “Charismatic Simplicity” design language.

What Trims Will The Mini Cooper EV Have?

The latest reports about the hot Brit has two trim levels. The base model, or “E” trim supposedly features an electric motor that is 40 kWh producing somewhere in the range of 181 horsepower. A set of figures is shared along with 2023’s Mini Cooper SE, which can complete the fabled 0-60mph sprint in just six seconds.

But, the brand-new “SE” trim produces 215 horsepower from a larger battery of 54 kWh, indicating an improved formula for the Mini Cooper EV 2025 model. Additionally, the automobile sector is buzzing with the possibility of 2025’s Mini Cooper Electric, “John Cooper Works,” which will come with the largest battery, generating the power that is appropriate to the famous name.

Range And Features

The 2023 version of the Mini Cooper SE has an overall range of 43 miles per charge, like the BMW i3 cousin. Although today’s Mini Cooper SE is in the middle of the chart for range, Mini promises that the 2025 Mini Cooper Electric can achieve an average of 180-250 miles per charge. This is a significant improvement over their current model.

New features confirmed for the forthcoming Mini include their new 24-centimeter OLED infotainment system, as well as Mini’s “Spike” personal assistant. If you have an eye for speed, Mini has installed their lithium-ion batteries inside the floor to provide “optimum road holding,” because of their love of the distribution of weight.

Interior

The 2025 images of the 2025 Mini Cooper interior are yet to be released, but a variety of fragments of Mini’s famous oval-shaped infotainment system are now available. Mini’s original speedometer, converted into an infotainment hub appears to have changed into a floating tablet device rather than the built-in unit that is featured on the current Mini models. The new Mini comes with a 24cm (diameter) Infotainment hub with a stunning OLED display.

Mini is now able to offer a two-spoke steering wheel that comes with an additional fabric third spoke that can rest on the “vibrant silver wheel.” Mini also provides the “hounds tooth” design for their seats. Mini claims that they can offer a variety of designs for Mini Cooper users.

2025 Mini Cooper Electric Interior

Despite BMW being the European producer of EVs since 2013, the company has been unable to make a mark in the EV market over the last few years. Contrary to the competition, BMW has relied heavily on shared platforms to power their EV offerings and the electric vehicles they have on the same platform as several gas-powered, greasy counterparts.

However, the times are changing and BMW recently unveiled that it will launch the “Neue Klasse” (New Class) EV platform set to launch in 2025. Today 2025  Mini Cooper Electric will remain on the Bavarian brand’s FAAR platform which is shared with the brand new BMW iX1 Electric Vehicle.

Models

Mini is shifting direction after 2024 using renewable materials in Mini’s vehicles and repeating their old design language under the cover of “Charismatic Simplicity.” Although it may sound like the typical buzzword-laden media language, Mini is moving dramatically towards their 2030 commitment and ensuring that all of Mini’s cars have an electric engine by 2025. BMW is looking to create Mini an exclusive electric vehicle brand.

2025 Mini Cooper Electric Release Date & Price

Prices for the 2023 model that is now discontinued Mini Cooper SE start at $30,895 which makes it one of the most affordable EVs available in the present. In reality, its 2025 Mini Cooper SE was only beaten by The Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Bolt in terms of cost.

2025 Mini Cooper Electric Changes

2025 Mini Cooper Electric Changes

For EV users on a budget, the uncertain decision to end the $25,000 Bolt EV is threatening the American automaker’s ability to offer the most affordable EV that is available. In 2023, the Chevy Bolt was replaced indirectly in an Equinox EV, with a reported price in the region of $30,000. Chevrolet will go toe with the British hatch that is expected to cost between $30,000 and $37,000 in mini cooper’s “E,” “SE” and possibly “JCW” trim levels.
