The Model Y is Tesla’s compact crossover SUV. It was the first fully electric compact crossover to hit the market. This makes it the benchmark by which all others in the segment are judged. It is spacious and comfortable, has a lot of range and comes packed with tons of useful features that Tesla owners love.
Model Y will not see much change in 2024. It will be available in its Long Range and Performance trims. We could see a single-motor rear-wheel-drive Model Y with lower prices due to Tesla’s recent production ramp-up. We aren’t expecting Tesla to deliver more than one or two models on its models as it has struggled in the past to meet customer demand. Despite this, the Model Y is still our top choice, although new competitors such as the Ioniq 5 or the BMW iX are increasing the competition.
When it is released in 2024, the electric SUV Tesla Model Y will be quite different. This crossover SUV can seat 5-7 people and has a remarkable range of driving distance for an electric vehicle.
Variant Y now offers a third row of seats, but this is only available for long-range models. The Model Y is now $3,000 more costly and has a shorter range, from 330 to 303 miles. This is according to Tesla Motors. The starting price of the next model is expected to be $61,000, according to our knowledge.
2024 Tesla Model Y Redesign
The 2024 Tesla Model Y will be an SUV with a design similar to the Model 3 sedan. It offers a sleek roofline, slimmer wheel designs, and overall more streamlined body lines. Performance models look more aggressive due to the lowered suspension, 21-inch wheels, and carbon fiber rear spoiler.
The Tesla Model Y is small but big. It is generally larger than smaller crossovers such as the Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4, which are roughly the same size and dimensions as the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
The interior of the new 2024 Tesla Model Y is more elegant than those that came before. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have become more essential for new cars and SUVs. The new Model Y should have both of these features as standard. Both the first and second rows offer plenty of space. Comfortable, supportive seats allow for long trips. The electric drivetrain keeps the interior of the car cool. The Long Range variant has a third row of comfortable seats. This is handy if you need more space.
There is plenty of cargo space when there are five seats. However, if you add the third seat, which is optional, it will take up less space. The engine is located in the front, where it would normally be. There is also a small “frunk”, and there are only 68 cubic feet of load space in the back when the back seats are folded down. The standard infotainment system comes with a large 15-inch screen, which controls nearly every feature such as temperature, audio, and navigation. There are four USB connections, a fourteen-speaker stereo system, and two wireless charging stations.
Autopilot is a semi-autonomous basic driving assistance system. The Autopilot features adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. Even though this makes driving on the highway almost painless, it is important to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes focused on the road.
Specifications & Engine
The Tesla Model Y uses the same engine and chassis as the Model 3 sedan. It is standard with a dual motor setup and all-wheel driving (AWD). We aren’t sure that Tesla’s most affordable crossover car will see much change if any. The Model Y’s basic Long Range trim has two electric motors and an all-wheel drive. It can travel up to 330 miles.
The new model could deliver 350 miles using the same arrangement as the old one, which is quite a leap. This model can travel from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds. While the range is shorter at 303 miles, Performance can travel from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. This version is however faster.
2024 Tesla Model Y Release Date and Price
When the 2024 Tesla Model Y launches in 2023, we expect the base model with the Long Range option to start at $61,000. This Tesla crossover model gives you the best mileage for your money. The Model Y Performance trim offers a higher top speed and a cost increase of $64,000.
In a growing market, there are a few cheaper electric SUVs than the Model Y. This applies to models like the Ford Mustang Mach E and the Volkswagen ID.4 as well as the Kia EV6. Cars like the Jaguar I-Pace and the Audi e-Tron are at the top and most expensive ends of the market.
