Peugeot wants its 2008 to be innovative and competitive to grab a bigger share of the B-segment crossover market. The model has been given a mid-cycle facelift to bring it in line with the new visual identity that was introduced earlier this year for the 508 model. The bumper inserts are glossy black and have three vertical lights that look like claws. The GT flagship trim features full-LED LED headlights with the same distinctive design.
Peugeot’s LED rear lights now have a “three claw” design with three double slats horizontally superimposed. Both the turn signal and reverse light are LED models. The exterior features 16- to 18″ wheels that are based on those available for the 408 as well as other novelties. The GT is a two-toned paint job, with a standard black roof. Its launch color was selenium grey. All 2008 models, regardless of color will have black side mirror covers. Inside, the Peugeot 2008 2024 has a 10-inch touchscreen, compared to the first two trims of the previous model, which only had a seven-inch screen.
2024 Peugeot 2008 Review
Upgrade to the Allure GT and you will get a 10-inch digital instrument panel with 3D effects on the GT. The small crossover comes with analog dials if you choose the Active base model. On models with manual transmissions, the shift knob has been upgraded. Peugeot increased the E-2008’s power and range. The E-2008 gets an electric motor that has 156 hp, a 15% improvement. This is thanks to the E-208’s and E-308’s hardware being carried over.
Battery pack increased from 50 to54 kWh. This resulted in an increase of 345 to 400 km (214 to 252 mi) in the WLTP combined cycle range. In early 2024, a hybrid powertrain featuring a gasoline engine with 136 hp and a dual-clutch gearbox with a motor electric will be added.
Fuel Efficiency
It is claimed that compared to a petrol engine without a hybrid, fuel consumption can be reduced by up to 15%. Peugeot goes as far as saying that owners should expect to commute in cities using only electric vehicles.
Peugeot GT 2008 still offers a three-cylinder 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine for those that prefer a simpler drivetrain. It produces either 100 hp when paired with a manual six-speed gearbox, or 130 hp when paired with an automatic eight-speed. The 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine with 130 horsepower is available only in the auto. Peugeot 2008 2024 will be sold this summer, along with the E-2008 all-electric.
Changes
Changes to the crossover start with the front fascia, which now has claw-like vertical triple daytime running lamps built into the bumper. The GT trim also receives a new glossy insert, a redesigned front bumper for a more muscular appearance, new lower intakes, and a new grille. The French automaker has modified the “three-claws” LED taillights, using three horizontal double slats superimposed on top of each other. Peugeot has made a small change by using LED bulbs in the rear and signal lights on the updated crossover. The rear bumper has also been reworked and is now noticeably thinner.
Interior
The interior of the Peugeot 2008 2024 cabin is essentially unchanged, but the devil lies in the details. There are some subtle changes made by the French automaker. Upgraded from the 7-inch unit, the crossover gets a new 10-inch infotainment screen. In addition, the Allure and GT models can be equipped with a 10-inch digital cluster, the GT version featuring a 3D effect. Lower variants of crossovers have analog gauges. Peugeot has also made changes to the manual transmission versions of 2008 by redesigning the shift knob.
Exterior
Peugeot 2008 e-2008 is the model that will be receiving major updates in 2024. The Peugeot e-308 powerplant has been installed, giving it more power and greater range. The electric motor produces 156 horsepower – a 15% improvement over the previous model. According to the WLTP cycle, the e2008’s range has increased from 345 km to 406km. The 2024 e2008 will look and perform better than the e2008 sample which was shown at the Manila International Auto Show in November.
Engine
Peugeot’s crossover will receive a hybrid version with a gasoline motor that produces 136 horsepower, and a dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission including an electric motor. Peugeot claims that the electric motor provides additional torque for the petrol engine during acceleration. The petrol engine shuts down during deceleration and the electric motor becomes a generator for charging the 48V batteries. Peugeot’s mild hybrid can be driven in zero-emission mode in the city, over short distances, and for maneuvering.
This variant is claimed to reduce fuel consumption by up to 15% in comparison with the traditional gasoline models. Owners can expect that they will be driving their cars in pure electrical mode more than 50% of the time in the city. Peugeot offers a 3-cylinder, 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline motor that can produce 130 horsepower with an automatic transmission of eight speeds or 100 horsepower with a manual transmission of six speeds for those who prefer internal combustion engines.
A 1.5-liter turbodiesel with 130 horsepower is available for customers who want a 4-cylinder engine. However, it can only be ordered with an automatic transmission.
Features
All 2024 Peugeot 2008 models feature a 10-inch touchscreen, compared to the previous model which had a seven-inch screen. The Allure and GT trims come with a new 10-inch digital instrument panel, the GT of which also has a 3-D effect. If you choose the Active, the small crossover comes with old-fashioned analog dials. The shift knob has been redesigned for versions with manual transmissions.
