After a year of delay, the Nissan Ariya eventually went on sale in the United States as a 2023 model last year. California-based dealer, Nissan of Tustin, delivered the first Ariyas in America on December 18, 2022. Later this year, a model year revision is expected to bring small updates to the Japanese EV.
2024 Nissan Ariya Redesign
Because the 2024 Nissan Ariya will be a carryover model, we do not anticipate any significant exterior styling updates when compared to the previous model. However, this is not necessarily a negative thing because the design of the product is still in its infancy. This is notably true in the United States, where sales did not begin until December 2022.
Colors
With the upgrade for the 2024 model year, Nissan may adjust the standard and optional equipment that comes with some of the grades of the Ariya, and they may even change a couple of the color options available.
The SUV is available from the manufacturer in several different trim levels, including Engage, Engage+, Venture+, Evolve+, Empower+, Premiere, and Platinum+. The available color options are as follows: Gun Metallic, Black Diamond Pearl, Northern Lights Metallic, Everest White Pearl TriCoat / Black Diamond Pearl (two-tone), Brilliant Silver Metallic / Black Diamond Pearl (two-tone), Boulder Gray Pearl / Black Diamond Pearl (two-tone), Deep Ocean Blue Pearl / Black Diamond Pearl, Sunrise Copper Pearl / Black Diamond Pearl, and Deep Ocean Blue Pearl / Black Diamond Pearl (two-tone).
The Ariya is an all-electric SUV coupe that exudes power with grace and simplicity, easily relatable to Japanese designs. It follows a new design theme that Nissan calls “Timeless Japanese Futurism.” The reason why the Ariya looks unlike any other Nissan model currently available on the market is because of this new design theme. It has a streamlined appearance and smooth, continuous surfaces, giving the impression that it was designed to slice through the air like butter.
Exterior
The Ariya has a sleek style, but at the same time, it also has some qualities that depict power and sportiness. Onlookers are able to get a clear picture of what is approaching them because of the narrow LED headlamps that are constructed up of four 20-mm mini-projectors, the massive “aerodynamic shield” that takes the place of a standard grille, and the drop-down LED DRLs. The new brand emblem is lit up and placed in the middle of the aerodynamic shield; this contributes to the overall impression that the car gives off of being futuristic.
The massive alloy wheels, along with the black underbody paneling that runs from the front all the way to the back, contribute to the traditional SUV characteristics that the vehicle possesses. At the rear, a steeply slanted C-pillar merges seamlessly into the deck. The low-slung, athletic stance of the Ariya is largely contributed to by this, in addition to the steeply sloping roofline. The combination light blade at the rear combination lamps needed to have drama much like the front lights, and the blackened treatment on the blade assures that this will happen.
Interior
It is possible that the cabin of the 2024 Nissan Ariya will not undergo any aesthetic revisions, as the current model’s cabin is already considered to be rather pleasant. However, the new model might come with some characteristics that are slightly different from the previous one depending on a variety of factors including consumer feedback, the availability of parts, and the price.

There is little reason to argue with Nissan’s assessment that the cabin resembles something more akin to the chic cafe lounge seen on board a starship than a regular automobile’s cabin. The instrument panel has been redesigned to provide a more streamlined appearance and to blend in perfectly with the door panels.
It is in keeping with the vehicle’s minimalist nature, possibly to the greatest extent of any part, as there are almost no physical controls. The company has incorporated the major features of the climate control system into a fine hardwood center dashboard with capacitive haptic switches. This brings the driver closer to the natural world.
The concept that “less is more” should be adhered to is reflected in the steering wheel, which is an ornate two-spoke item. Two enormous displays, one of which is a touchscreen central display and the other of which is a completely digital instrument cluster, are oriented vertically to provide the driver with easy access to the entertainment system and the ability to see the information. ProPILOT Assist 2.0, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, and Nissan Safety Shield 360 are among the available features.
Range & Performance
The Ariya has a distinctive exterior and an interior that is kept to a minimum, and it rides on a fresh new platform developed by the Alliance called the CMF-EV. This platform is specifically designed to support electric vehicles. It is available in four different power electric (PE) configurations, and it is possible that Nissan may not alter these options when it updates the vehicle for the 2024 model year.
However, the trims in which these configurations are available could be different in the MY2024 compared to the trims in which they were available in the MY2023. Modifications focused on improving overall efficiency could result in a higher EPA-est value. range figures.
There are now four different power electric (PE) combinations that may be purchased, and for the sake of making things clearer, we have categorized them as follows:
- SR FWD (Standard-Range Front Wheel Drive)
- ER FWD (Extended-Range Front Wheel Drive)
- Standard-Range All Wheel Drive abbreviated as SR AWD
- Extended-Range All-Wheel Drive, or ER-AWD for short.
The battery pack for the SR front-wheel drive and SR all-wheel drive variants has a combined capacity of 63 kWh, while the battery pack for the ER front-wheel drive and ER all-wheel drive configurations has a combined capacity of 87 kWh. In contrast to those found in the Leaf, the battery packs found in the Nissan Ariya are cooled by liquid.
The SR configuration with front-wheel drive has a 214-horsepower and 221-pound-feet. front motor, as well as the EPA’s estimate of it. There is a range of 216 miles. The ER FWD configuration has a 238-horsepower and 221-pound-foot torque engine. front motor, as well as the EPA’s estimate of it. The Evolve+, Empower+, and Premiere models have a range of 289 miles, while the Venture+ model has a range of 304 miles.
The SR all-wheel-drive setup is equipped with two motors, one located in the front and one located in the rear. Together, these motors generate 335 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. about torque. According to the calculations done by Nissan, it should have a range of 207 miles.
The ER All-Wheel-Drive option utilizes two more potent motors, each of which is capable of producing 389 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. about torque. Nissan estimates that it will be able to give a range of 268 miles (Platinum+) or 272 miles (Engage+ and Evolve+) when specified with wheels measuring 19 inches in diameter. The business anticipates that the range will be reduced to 258 miles if the optional 20-inch wheels are used.
Charging System
Customers have the option of charging their Ariyas at alternating current rates of up to 7.2 kW or at direct current rates of up to 130 kW. Charging a battery pack from 0% to its full capacity with a Level 2 charger takes 10.5 hours for a 63 kWh battery pack and 14 hours for an 87 kWh battery pack. With a Level 3 charger, charging from 20 to 80% SoC can be as quick as 35 minutes 63 kWh battery pack)/40 minutes (87 kWh battery pack).
In comparison to its competitors, the Ariya has a DC fast-charging speed that is significantly slower. As part of the MY2024 update, Nissan could boost the maximum charging input from 130 kW to 150 kW or even higher. This would make the process go much more quickly.
Customers purchasing an Ariya in the United States in 2024 will have access to the Wallbox Pulsar Plus home charger, which has a suggested retail price of USD 699. Early in July 2022, Nissan began making this charger available at its local dealerships. Customers also had the convenience of scheduling the installation online through the nissanusa.com website. The business added that it will provide a rebate on the charger and installation to consumers who purchase through the new program with Wallbox.
Wallbox Pulsar Plus is a charger that operates at 240 volts and comes in a matte black finish. It can charge up to 9.6 kilowatts when using alternating current. It also enables voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and comes with a wire that is 25 inches long.
2024 Nissan Ariya Price & Release Date
Prices for the 2024 Nissan Ariya could begin at roughly USD 43,500 and go up to somewhere around USD 60,500 in the United States. As a result of the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, the Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit that was offered under the Biden administration has been replaced by the Clean Vehicle Credit. At least a few thousand buyers might have saved up to USD 7,500 on their purchase under the scheme if Nissan had introduced the Ariya in the United States in late 2021 as was initially planned.
As it stands, the Ariya does not meet the criteria necessary to qualify for a subsidy under the Clean car Credit program since the program mandates that the final assembly of the electric car take place in North America. The Leaf is imported to the United States from the Nissan Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant in Tennessee, while the Ariya is brought over from the Nissan Tochigi Plant in Japan. Both of these plants are owned by Nissan.
In 2023, there will be limited access to the Nissan Ariya in the United States. In a National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) meeting between Nissan and its about 200 dealers in the U.S., the company cautioned the retailers about the limited availability of the Ariya for the remainder of the year, Automotive News reported on January 29, 2023. The Japanese automaker cited growing material cost for batteries as the key rationale behind its decision to limit the supply of the Ariya for the U.S. market, states the article.
The chairman of Nissan’s Dealer Advisory Board, Tyler Slade, was quoted in an American publication as saying that dealers have potential customers waiting in line for the Ariya, but there are just not enough vehicles available to meet the demand.
The launch of the Nissan Ariya coincides with a surge in interest in electric sport utility vehicles (SUVs) across the United States. It should become Nissan’s best-selling electric car because of its SUV body shape, long-range, affordable pricing, and high-end technological features. In 2021, Nissan only managed to sell 14,239 units of the Leaf in the United States. The delivery of tiny electric hatchbacks in the year 2022 was significantly lower than in the previous year, totaling 12,025 units. Once the supply has stabilized, we anticipate the more advanced Ariya will see a significant surge in demand.
