In Asia and perhaps Europe, the 2024 Ford Ranger Stormtrak will be available. We don’t yet know if the 2024 Ford Ranger Stormtrak will be sold in America. It is intended to be more stylish and premium than the Ranger, with its distinctive design and features. There will be a lot of similarities between the Ranger Wildtrak trim and Stormtrak. This includes styling, exterior features, and interior elements. We are eager to see the pickup truck in action and hope that it will be available in North America.

It also offers several high-tech features, such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, and Ford’s SYNC 3 information system with a 12-inch infotainment screen. Blue Oval will offer a 2.0-liter EcoBlue engine that generates 210 horsepower, and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. The model comes with a 10-speed transmission and four-wheel drive as standard. The Ranger Stormtrak pickup truck is well-equipped and powerful, which enhances the Ranger’s already impressive capabilities. The official turbodiesel is here, but it’s not clear which engine will power the US-spec Stormtrak. Ford will have to use one of its EcoBoost engines as diesel is less likely.
Ford did not bring back the Ranger Raptor when they brought the Ranger current-gen to America. This is about to change. Ford CEO Jim Farley confirmed that the Ranger Raptor will be coming to America with the next generation. Ford’s global model, revealed in February, should be the same.
What Engines Will Be Available in The New Ford Ranger?
Ford introduced the Global Ranger, which comes with three different engine options. The three engines were all diesel, and it was unlikely that any of them would make it to America. There isn’t a lot of information to go on. Ford is likely to stick with the Bronco’s base engine. This will be a turbocharged 2.3 liter inline four with similar power numbers as the previous model, which was 270 horsepower and 331 lb.ft. The global Ranger Raptor will get a twin-turbo, 392 horsepower V6. We’d bet on the American version receiving the same engine.
In Europe, prototype Ranger PHEVs were spotted. Ford has trademarked Ranger Thunder which is a good name for a plug-in hybrid. Ford has been working on a hybrid Bronco, which would presumably lead to a Ranger hybrid. Ford hasn’t confirmed anything. We expect the answer to be yes, on both fronts – eventually, even if it’s not the official launch. Ford’s plan to only go electric and hybrid in Europe by 2026 suggests that they will electrify their Ranger. In Europe, what appears to be Ranger PHEV prototypes were spotted. Ford and VW are reportedly working together on a 2025 electric Ranger pickup. Ford also filed a trademark in Europe for the “Ranger Lightning” too.
Will the Ford Ranger be Electric?
We may have to wait until the next generation. Ford has reportedly been working with VW to develop an electric Ranger. Ford has filed a trademark for “Ranger Lightning”. Ford’s latest forecast does not show a Ranger EV going into production before 2029.
