Pre-orders are being accepted for the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. We anticipate that the new model 2024 will carry over the all-electric Lyriq SUV, which was first introduced last year. The Cadillac Lyriq will offer two additional trims to its base model. They will be called Lyriq Sport Luxury and Lyriq Premium Luxury, as far as we know.
Cadillac’s next luxury crossover should look very similar to the one that is currently on the market. The electric car’s exterior is attractive with a clean design and a striking Black Crystal Shield grille. The car’s exterior is easy to spot thanks to its thin LED headlights and taillights, which look similar to the shape of the headlights.
2024 Cadillac Lyriq Changes
The SUV with the most striking exterior is the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. Recent photos have revealed that the new model has a unique style that is only available to this trim. The Sport trim features a more refined grille design and distinctive lighting patterns than the Cadillac Lyriq’s base trim. The front fascia appears wider than it is due to the wide center divider bar.
The regular silver window surrounds were replaced by black ones. Larger wheels were also added. The back also has some unusual features like LED taillights that almost touch the roof and extend into the C-pillar. The vertical reflectors that look like headlights on Cadillac vehicles are a distinctive feature. This model’s exterior colors will include Satin Steel Metallic (Stellar Black Metallic), Opulent Blue Metallic (Opulent Blue Metallic), and Crystal White Tricoat.
Interior
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq’s cabin is technologically advanced. The dashboard of the base model features a large curved screen measuring 33 inches. This gives it an elegant look. The overall design is very clean and there are few buttons and knobs.
This SUV is unique in that it comes with an AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system. It also features satellite radio and AM/FM. Five comfortable leatherette-upholstered seats are included in the electric vehicle. The driver’s and front passenger’s seats can be adjusted eight ways and heated. The back bench seat can also be split in half. The core characteristics of the new trim levels are expected to remain the same.
Safety
As standard equipment on the Lyriq, you will receive the Cadillac Smart System. This system includes safety technologies such as Forward Collision Alert and Front Pedestrian Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Safety Alert Seat. You can also purchase optional safety and driving aid options if you are willing to spend more. There are many options available: Rear Cross-Traffic Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control, HD Suround Vision, Emergency Braking, and Blind Zone Steering Assist.
Engine & Performance
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. According to the EPA, an RWD model can travel 312 miles on a full charge. According to reports, the engine will produce 340 horsepower and 325 pounds-feet torque.
Charging Details
Lyriq Level 2 home charging will increase the range by 52 miles if it is plugged in for one hour. Rear-wheel-drive vehicles only if the Lyriq is connected to a 19.2kW residential or public charger. After charging the 11.5 kW charger for an hour, you can travel up to 37 miles.
A 7.7 kW dual level adds 19 miles range to AWD Lyriq vehicles and 21 miles to RWD. As standard equipment, the Lyriq will include a charging cable. Cadillac EV supports DC rapid charging up to 190 kW. RWD and AWD Lyriq can gain a 76-mile range in just 10 minutes from a DC fast-charging station.
Connectivity
A 33-inch color LED screen that acts as both an instrumentation and information hub is the LYRIQ cabin’s star attraction. It features navigation, wireless smartphone integration, and satellite radio. 5G WiFi hotspot capability is also included. Wireless device charging is also possible. A seven-speaker stock stereo system is not as impressive as the 19-speaker AKG system that comes with Luxury 2 models.
Handling & Driving Impressions
Cadillac was focused on comfort when it created the new Lyric electric SUV. With that in mind, Cadillac did an excellent job. Although there is room for improvement, adaptive dampers would be a great idea. It takes a lot to shake this cruiser, and driving it feels as easy as it does the ride quality.
The drive selector has several modes, including sporty, snow/ice, and customizable my mode. The base tour configuration is what makes the Lyriq stand out. It is not built to tackle corners with gusto. The car accelerates quickly in the base configuration, while the AWD version has more power, but the steering is lacking the feel that inspires drivers to try more daring maneuvers.
The active noise cancellation will do an excellent job cutting out the road noise. You can also rely on Super Cruise to take care of a lot of your driving if you wish. This EV is perfect for those who prefer a more hands-on approach to driving. The powerful regenerative braking system makes it easy to accelerate and stop with just one pedal. The V Series is for Caddy enthusiasts who prefer something a little more powerful, but the Lyric is an extremely comfortable car and very easy to use on a daily basis.
Verdict
Cadillac’s attempt to return to luxury roots with the 2024 Lyriq feels like a natural progression. The SUV has the appearance and feel of a luxury SUV but it is composed and stable while driving. Although it isn’t athletic, the Lyriq has enough power to get around town and cruise down the highway. There are many standard comfort and convenience features that make every trip easy and relaxing. The Lyriq is priced competitively, as it is more affordable than the Tesla Model Y and offers much more luxury.
The Lyriq has more practical concerns than you might think. It is spacious for both passengers and cargo and offers a great range. This is despite not having any direct competitors in size or luxury. Although it may not be the top choice in the future, the Caddy Lyriq proves that American automakers can make great cars without compromise, and that the brand is on the right track to reclaim its glory days.
