2024 Acura RDX: IsAcura Bringing Back the RDX? Following the recent introduction of the newest generation of the Honda CR-V, we are all looking forward to seeing the luxury version of the vehicle. Naturally, we are referring to Acura’s RDX model, which is scheduled to undergo a significant overhaul in the not-too-distant future.
The most recent information suggests that this will take place as early as the following year, which is when we anticipate seeing the brand-new 2024 Acura RDX. The standards are quite high, particularly when we take into account the fact that the level of competition is higher than it has ever been.
Although it is too soon to speak about specifics at this stage, we can say with a high degree of confidence that the new model will result in changes that are mostly evolutionary.
Simply said, the existing model is still rather outstanding in the majority of respects, and there is no need to make any significant changes to it. The infotainment system is almost the only major source of complaints, and as a result, we anticipate the business to make the new one far more user-friendly.
What’s New Inside?
Reportedly, the Acura RDX 2024 will have improved build quality in addition to a redesigned instrument cluster, which will allow it to flaunt an even greater degree of luxury. You still have the option of purchasing an Advance package, which would provide you with genuine aluminum trim for the doors, dashboard, and center console.
Despite being built on a brand-new aluminum basis, this elegant crossover offers enough of space for all of the passengers. So far, the rear legroom has been measured at 38 inches, which ranks it at the top of its class. The cargo area, which increases from 29.5 to 58.8 cubic feet, follows the same pattern as the passenger compartment.
2024 Acura RDX Design
When it comes to the design of the whole thing, we do not anticipate any significant surprises. In the same way as the previous generation, the new Acura RDX that will debut in 2024 should share many components with the CR-V.
The makeover of Honda’s best-selling sport utility vehicle (SUV) has just been completed, and it brings with it some very good changes, including a new hybrid engine that is more efficient. Still, we do not know for certain whether the RDX will use the same engine in the near future.
In any event, we anticipate future developments in terms of the suspension and chassis configuration, despite the fact that the already available model performs very well in this respect. Because it combines excellent handling with a comfortable ride, we think that the new RDX has the potential to become even more impressive than it now is.
Exterior Design
When we take into account the fact that the previous model is still quite appealing, it is relatively simple to draw the conclusion that the new model will only have minor tweaks to its design. The general design strategy will almost definitely be the same, and it will almost certainly retain all of the sharp lines that have been Acura’s hallmarks over the course of a lengthy period of time.
Naturally, the most significant alterations will be made to the front end, and we anticipate that certain features will be taken from the newly designed MDX. The back end will, of course, be equipped with a few noteworthy new features as well.
An increase in size is going to be one of the most significant developments that will take place. The new 2024 Acura RDX will have a wheelbase that is 1.6 inches larger than the previous model, and size increases are also anticipated in other elements of the vehicle. All of this should deliver a variety of advantages, beginning with an interior that is roomier and more pleasant, as well as larger cargo space, and so on.
Interior
Even if the existing model is already very good in this respect, we anticipate that the new cabin will continue with improvements regarding the materials and construction quality. This is something that we are expecting to see when it comes to the interior design of the vehicle.
Naturally, we anticipate more contemporary aesthetics, but we also believe that the new model will ship with fewer physical controls than the one that is currently available and will instead place a greater emphasis on the touchscreen, which is anticipated to be larger and simpler to operate in the new model. In general, we anticipate there will be a greater quantity of standard and optionally available equipment, particularly in terms of technology and convenience elements.
As was previously indicated, the new version will be somewhat more spacious than its predecessor. As a result, we anticipate that there will be somewhat greater room on the interior. This specifically pertains to the second row of seats, which should provide an extra half an inch to one inch of legroom for those seated there.
The space available in the front seats should not change much; nevertheless, we anticipate a new silhouette that offers enhanced lateral support in addition to enhanced comfort overall.
2024 Acura RDX Engines
When it comes to the engine, we anticipate that it will remain the same as it is now, which is a turbo-four. We are speaking about the well-known 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which, in its most recent iteration, generates something in the neighborhood of 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
We anticipate that the 2024 Acura RDX will come with a little increased amount of power. It will be offered with an automatic gearbox that has 10 different gear ratios, and all-wheel drive will also be an option.
Despite the fact that this engine provides more than acceptable performances, the most common criticism leveled at the present generation is that there is no high-performance version available. As a result, the appearance of such a device in the next generation would not shock us in the least. We believe that it would make use of a modified version of this turbo-four engine, the maximum output of which would probably range somewhere between 320 and 330 horsepower.
At long last, the prospect of a hybrid drivetrain has emerged as a real possibility. However, we do not anticipate seeing the same system that is found in the CR-V. Rather, we anticipate seeing something that is more competent, maybe even one that is based on a turbo-four engine.
2024 Next Generation Acura RDX Hybrid?
To all the Acura owners and fans out there: Throughout my whole life, I have driven Honda automobiles, ranging from Accords to Preludes. I did some searching, but I couldn’t find anything relevant to this subject, thus I think it would be appropriate to start a new thread for this.
Throughout my whole life, I have driven sedans and coupes, but I am finally considering switching to an RDX as my next car. Because of the widespread chip shortage that has led to increased pricing for both new and old automobiles—a trend in which I do not want to participate—I do not plan to buy a vehicle for at least another year or two.
My next car will either be a hybrid or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) owing to the fact that petrol costs are on the rise and it will be a miracle if they remain at the same level as they are now, much alone decrease. In all candor, I believe that this is where things are headed.
Given that Acura currently produces a hybrid version of the MDX and has just recently stopped short of releasing a Type-S model, do you think it would be too difficult for the company to produce a hybrid version of the RDX as well? I am aware that a Type-S RDX is an oxymoron, but it is quite conceivable for there to be an A-Spec hybrid RDX.
The Acura RDX satisfies my requirements for a premium sport utility vehicle with a price tag of less than $50,000. Since it was first introduced, the design has always been one of my favorites, but the fact that there is no hybrid version of it available is the only reason I haven’t purchased one yet. It’s an Acura, so I know not to anticipate high MPGs like those of a CRV hybrid; nonetheless, anything with an MPG rating that’s better than the present abysmal rating would be a welcome improvement.
After looking at a number of different premium compact SUVs and crossovers, I have determined that the Acura RDX is the class leader. The new Lexus NX comes in hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) configurations, but its styling is off-putting, especially in comparison to that of the RDX.
Although I’ve heard that the RDX has just had a mid-cycle update and that it’s fantastic, it’s evident that there is currently no hybrid variant available. Do any of you believe that the next-generation 2024 vehicles will include a hybrid version of the RDX? I really, truly hope that they do because I’m willing to wait regardless of the outcome. If that isn’t possible, I won’t have much of a choice except to look at other premium CUVs that do offer hybrid options.
2024 Acura RDX Release Date and Price
Although we have not yet received confirmation from Acura authorities, our best guess is that the 2024 Acura RDX will be on sale some time during the second half of the year 2023. When it comes to the cost, we anticipate that the starting versions will be sold for around 43,000 dollars. Models such as the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, and other similar vehicles will be important rivals.
