The MDX is a great choice for anyone who needs a reliable people hauler with a premium package that also includes high levels of athleticism. This year’s generation has taken all of this to the next level and is far superior in almost every way. We don’t anticipate any major changes to the Acura MDX 2024, which will be the third year of production. Minor updates, such as new features or new color options, are always possible.
You can count on the same design which has many great features. The SUV is attractive and provides a very engaging driving experience. The engines are powerful enough and the handling is impressive for such a small vehicle. It is not difficult to find standard equipment, but the main complaint is the complex infotainment screen.
2024 Acura MDX Redesign
The 2024 Acura MDX, as we have just mentioned, will be the third generation of the model. We don’t anticipate any major changes. Acura’s trademark sharp edges will be used to keep the mid-size SUV looking familiar. There may be minor changes, such as new colors. This also applies to the Type S, which is a high-performance model that comes with unique styling and all sorts of mechanical upgrades.
The Type S has a larger Brembo brake system and an upgraded suspension. Even the base model has impressive handling. It is also one of the most enjoyable models to drive in this class. This is especially true with the well-known SHAWD system by the company, which is available in the Type S, and optional in the base models.
Interior
Although the MDX’s cabin is not as extravagant as other interiors, it has a very pleasant feel. The MDX’s dashboard and center console still have a good number of controls. This will be appreciated by older generations. The dashboard design is attractive and uses quality materials well-built built and has good sound insulation. There are no major issues.
Acura’s front seats are large and supportive. Acura has a tradition of providing a great driving position. The second row offers plenty of space for passengers and comfort. However, the third row is too small and only suitable for children, despite having a longer wheelbase.
This SUV’s strong point is its cargo area. The SUV has a total volume of 16.3 cubic feet behind the third row, 39. feedback feet behind the second row, and a maximum cargo area of 71.4 cubic yards, which is quite good for this segment.
Features
The majority of carmakers offer some new standard features each year. So the 2024 Acura MDX may include some of these. The changes are minimal, and most of the features will be unchanged. The current model inc12.3-inch2.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch display, a touchpad co, a controller, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
There is also a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless device charging, a nine-speaker stereo system, satellite radio, HD Radio and USB ports Bluetooth. A tri-zone automatic climate control, a panorama moonroof, a power liftgate, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and a universal garage door opener.
There are few candidates for standard equipment, considering the extensive list. There are currently many options, including navigation, extra USB ports, and a hands-free power liftgate.
Colors
For the base 2024 Acura MDX, standard paint jobs include Lunar Silver Metallic and Fathom, Blue Pearl. 500 can get Majestic Black Pearl or Liquid Carbon Metallic, Performance Red Pearl or Platinum White Pearl. Phantom Violet Blue is available with the Technology Package for the same price. Apex Blue Pearl is a special color for the ASpec model. Type S uses a different paint job, Tiger Eye Pearl. The material and trim levels will determine the interior color options.
Engine
The engine lineup will certainly remain unchanged. The 3.5-liter V6 will still be available in base models. It produces around 290 horsepower. The 10-speed automatic transmission is standard and delivers a good level of performance.
This is where the Type S excels, thanks to its 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 which produces 355 horsepower. The Type S also features a 10-speed auto, but Acura’s SH-AWD system with torque vectoring is standard.
The base engine can return around 19 mpg in cities and 26 mpg on highways. This is typical for this segment. The Type S, on the other hand, is much more efficient and returns approximately 17the mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.
2024 Acura MDX Price and Release Date
