As one would imagine, BMW hasn’t revealed all the details of the model, which is the M5 Touring. The press release they issued that announces the new model states it’s going to provide “uncompromising long-distance comfort and impressive spaciousness.” In the nitty-gritty, BMW says it will have a hybrid powertrain underneath the top of the new super wagon. It’s the exact engine that is in the BMW XM SUV. It is a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that is powered by an electric motor, which is also available in an uprated version as this Label Red version.

The brand new M5 Touring is going to face plenty of competition from the other models in Germany. Audi is currently working on a brand new and improved RS6 Avant with a more robust body. Mercedes-Benz is also working on a brand new E53 station wagon, as spy shots have revealed some speculations of a new E63 wagon as well. Also, BMW will need to battle some of its fierce competitors to be able to take on this new battle for the performance-oriented wagon.
2025 BMW M5 Touring Release Date & Price
Although it’s a brand-new addition to the M5 lineup however, the M5 Touring isn’t an entirely new BMW in any way. The original M5 Touring was launched back in 1992 and was built on M5 Sedan’s second generation. M5 Sedan. BMW came out with M5 E61 Touring in 2007. Engine
The announcement of the brand new 2025 BMW M5 Touring is something that will entice people in the US market. Although it’s not yet announced the date and location it is expected that the M5 Touring would fill in the gap left by M3 Touring. It comes with a twin-turbo, six-cylinder engine which is the same engine that is in the underside of BMW’s BMW M3 Competition. It puts out 510 horsepower and 479 pounds of torque. The 0-62 mph speed of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 155mph show the M3 Touring’s performance is not slowing down. As we’ve learned that this isn’t the case for the United States won’t be getting the M3 Touring car.
BMW USA turned down homologizing the standard BMW 3 Series wagon before it was approved by the company to homologate for the M3 Touring. The moment it was announced the car was not yet ready to allow BMW USA to go through the process of homologation due to reasons of financials. BMW was also of the opinion that the fan market who would have wanted to buy the vehicle was simply tiny for the company. The cost of making the vehicle homologated and built for the USA could be too expensive to warrant the returns BMW had anticipated. So, there’s going to be a lot of people hoping that the M5 Touring makes its way to the USA.
Concept
The all-new 2025 BMW M5 Touring will serve as an enormous boost for BMW after it has faced some criticism in the past few years. A large part of this is due to the controversial design style it has adopted for a variety of its vehicles. The big grilles have gotten under people’s skin, but so have the greater proportions of some of the company’s latest models. The latest BMW 4 Series drew a significant amount of criticism from the general public at the time it was revealed, due to its higher beltline.
The criticism, however, hasn’t been from angry people. Famous car designer Frank Stephenson produced a video about the BMW XM, asking “What is happening to BMW? !” in response to the BMW XM that was launched at the close of 2021. Stephenson was the creator of the first BMW X5, so he may have more reason than the rest of us to be unhappy with BMW’s approach to design. BMW has decided to reshape its design language to be more appealing in the upcoming future and it appears that the brand-new BMW 2025 M5 Touring could be a part of this plan.
2025 BMW M5 Touring For Sale
The brand new 2025 BMW M5 Touring comes as part of the 8th edition of the BMW 5 Series, and the sporty M5 was spotted in testing due to numerous images of spy cameras. The front fascia seems to be missing the massive grilles seen on the latest BMWs. The angled intakes are the most prominent as are the triangular openings at areas of the front fascia’s corners. The more intricate details are concealed due to the camouflage wrap which means we’ll need to wait a bit longer before we get the full picture. The M5 is likely to have quad exhausts at the rear.
BMW hasn’t announced when the brand-new 2025 BMW M5 Touring will go on sale, but we could imagine it coming simultaneously or shortly after the M5 is available. The M5 is expected to be available in 2024, which is the year that the M5 Touring is expected to arrive and we hope it arrives simultaneously with the sedan. It is hoped that it will make its way into the USA and meet the demand for a performance BMW station wagon. This is a need that was very much unfulfilled with BMW’s M3 Touring not making its journey into North America.
