Lexus LC Coupe 2024 and LC Convertible will see a raft of revisions focusing primarily on comfort, convenience, and a more rewarding driving experience. A new Ultimate Edition for both body types is also introduced. The production of the new models begins in May. The Ultimate Edition will follow in September. Details on UK availability will later be confirmed.
Multimedia and Connectivity
Lexus Link Pro is the latest multimedia system from Lexus, and it’s featured in all-new Lexus LC 2024 models. It features a 12.3″ touchscreen that’s 86mm closer for easier operation. The “Hey Lexus!” onboard assistant recognizes voice commands from the driver as well as the front-seat passenger. Around 100 requests can be made, such as to adjust climate controls, search for information on the internet, or make a phone call. Lexus Link Pro allows up to three users to save their custom settings, including navigation, audio, driving positions, and safety warnings.
The owners can easily integrate their smartphones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, either through a wireless connection or a wired link. The Lexus Link app for smartphones offers many useful features, including the ability to remotely activate the climate control system to heat or cool your car before a trip.
The multimedia package includes cloud-based navigation, which is connected to real-time traffic and road information. This makes journey planning easier. The “Hey Lexus!” assistant can provide local information, such as parking location. The system has an embedded navigation feature if a cloud connection cannot be established at any given time.
The trackpad is no longer needed with the new touchscreen. The center console has been redesigned slightly. The rear console storage has a convenient 12V power outlet and USB-C charging ports, as well as a USB-A port to play high-resolution audio files.
Interior Colour
The LC Coupe and LC Convertible both adopt a two-tone blue and white interior color scheme, which is inspired by the previous Regatta Edition. The steering wheel, the shift lever, the lower door trim, and scuff plates (now made of light carbon) are highlighted in blue. Dark Rose provides a sportier appearance, with dark black and a rich, red finish on the seat, center console, door trim, and instrument panel.
Exterior Colour
The coupe and convertible now have two new paint options: Sonic Copper and Azure Blue. Azure Blue is an intense, clear shade with contrasting shading and highlights. Sonic Copper is a rich, reddish color that was first featured on Lexus’s new RX and RZ crossovers.
The Panoramic View Monitor, which is available for cars equipped with it, has cameras built into the door mirrors. This slight change in shape was caused by the addition of cameras. The adjustment further reduces wind noise and improves aerodynamic performance. Three forged alloy wheels are available according to the model grade: 20-inch black super-gloss metallic, 21-inch machined finish, and 21-inch two-tone black with hyper-chrome.
Safety System
All LC models come with the Lexus Safety System+, which is a set of active safety features and driver assistance functions. Pre-Collision System now detects bicyclists on the road during daylight hours. The new Intersection Turning Assist assists the driver in making safer turns at intersections. Emergency Steering Assist makes small steering corrections automatically if the car accidentally begins to move outside its traffic lane.
The Road Sign Assist and the Dynamic Radar cruise control have been updated to allow easy adjustments of vehicle speed as road limits change. Curve Speed Reduction is a new feature of the cruise control that automatically adjusts speed for approaching curves.
Driving
Lexus Driving Signature was introduced with the LC Coupe, a quality that makes the driver feel confident, comfortable, and in control, at all times. This characteristic has been carried over to all new Lexus models since. The 2024 LC Convertible and LC Coupe ranges have undergone detailed modifications to the suspension, steering, wheel hubs, and engine mounts. This will improve the responsiveness of the cars and give drivers a better sense that the car is firmly planted on the road.
The shift control of the 10-speed automatic transmission has been redesigned to anticipate driver intentions in D mode. The Sport S+ and Sport S drive modes produce a sportier feeling. In D mode, the transmission selects the optimal gear for acceleration and braking and performs downshifts. The V8 versions of the LC Convertible and LC have a new Expert driving mode that is suitable for track driving. This mode turns off the traction control system. The lithium-ion batteries in the LC500h hybrid electric Coupe have increased capacity. The increased capacity of the lithium-ion battery allows for faster power delivery. This improves responsiveness, acceleration, and feel.
2024 Lexus LC Ultimate Edition
The Ultimate Edition of the LC 500 Convertible and LC 500 is distinguished by a performance-oriented image and tuning to their V8 engine. Hakugin White’s matte finish is inspired by Lexus Sports Lineup, symbolized by Lexus LFA. This effect is sealed by a satin topcoat and contrasts with the black bodywork ornamentation. The radiator grille, moldings, washer covers, bumper embellishment, outer mirrors, and headlamp surrounds are all black on the front of the car. The rear of the car is black on the bracket, lamp cover, lower bumper embellishment, and exhaust baffle.
A Lexus Takumi master engineer has tuned the V8 engine to provide a smoother rotation and improved sound and acceleration response. Only four LC Convertibles and one LC Coupe Ultimate Edition will be sold in the UK.
