2024 Chevy Impala passenger cars were the most affected by the influx of SUVs, trucks, crossovers, and trucks. General Motors has, for instance, dropped some of its most famous names in the last few years. It has no interest, at least in North America, in looking back on big sedans such as the Chevrolet Impala and Cadillac CT6. The reason we mention them both is simple.
It also delivers the features that full-size sedan owners expect (at least). First, some background. The pixel master is a lover of all vintage cars and has a particular knack for GM products. He was able to creatively bring back many forgotten or long-lost signboards. He also loves the Chevy Impala, which is also one of his favorite vehicles.
The new digital life of America’s large sedan is not only cool but there is also an attempt to bring back the Chevy Impala SS with a Cadillac CT6 LandCruiser and some Chevy Camaro DNA. We love the digital impersonation but some viewers find it lacking in boldneSS.
2024 Chevy Impala Review
Most new car buyers want crossovers, SUVs, and pickups. That’s why the major names in the industry have shifted their focus away from traditional sedans and other once-popular body types. These days there is a tall rider available for all jobs, including dropping off the children at school or grocery shopping, taking cross-country trips, and hitting the drag strip and the local racetrack.
However, there was a time in history when such insaneness was impossible. We bet some people would drive their large sedans to hide evidence they had illegally settled.
We can’t forget models like these, such as the Chevrolet Impala which was discontinued after 2020. The four premium doors have a similar shape to the Impala’s tenth generation, but they now have a new face. Headlights, grille, and lower side bumper trim were all part of the old sedan. The badges on the front doors and C-pillar are also from that car.
The Impala inspired the taillights. However, the Caddy profile has the army profile except for the door handles, rearview mirrors, and a special badge on the lower front fender. This model will be compatible with the entire premium sibling powertrain range, including the powerful 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8.
Rumors
There are rumors that the Chevrolet Camaro won’t live beyond 2023. GM has not confirmed or denied these rumors. What if the Impala that was reintroduced on a rear-wheel-drive platform with lots more cutting-edge technology, driver assistance, and, most importantly, electrification? Ford did it with the Mustang Mach E.
This would allow for greater scale and be future-proofed for the sustainable performance business of GM’s core vehicle/crossover business, just like AMG with its standalone model. The Impala signage can be transformed from a rental agency food to something much more aspirational and not a geriatric shadow.
The seventh-generation Impala-SS model is different in that it is sold separately from the standard Impala and instead is a Chevy Caprice high-performance version. This fan-made rendering of the seventh-generation Impala’s rear-wheel-drive sedan has gained a loyal following due to its attractive mid-90s styling, standard 5.7L L LT1 V8 motor, and stylish design.
This rendering shows the overall silhouette of the seventh-generation Impala SS. It also includes modern touches like LED headlamps and daytime run lights, side skirts, large front intakes, and grille designs that are Chevy Camaro ZL1 style, a Chevy bowtie, and all-aluminum wheels from Chevy Camaro L1.
This rendering also includes modern and stylish sheet metal for the doors and side panels. This Chevy Impala SS is a modernized version of the Chevy Camaro ZL1. This will make it a supercharged 6.2L LT4 engine with 650 horsepower and 650-pound feet of torque. It also comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission or the 10-speed GM auto.
Standard rear-wheel drive will be available, and GM’s electronic limited-slip differential will allow you to put all that power into the ground. GM has not yet announced plans for a rear-wheel-drive performance Impala. The automaker discontinued the Impala a few decades ago and does not intend to revive the nameplate. The Chevy SS sedan, a Holden Commodore-based Chevy SS sedan that was sold only for a short time between 2014 and 2017, is also not to be forgotten.
Engine
General Motors is renowned for its powerful powertrains. This research highlights the V8 Impala as an electrified past. Let’s begin with the basics: a proven 3.6L V6 engine producing 320 horses and 280 lb-ft of torque will get you started on the road to the range. Next, a 6.2L LT2 V8 from the Corvette C8 will give you the chance to take the Corvette C8 to the next level.
The latter unit can produce up to 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed Tremec dual-clutch gearbox will transmit power to the rear wheels. Mary Barra, the GM CEO, has envisioned an all-electric future. Electrification for Impala could also save large sedans.
A Tesla Model S with a high-performance dual motor setup and 100kWh battery pack could be the key to a market revival. It can travel 380 miles or more (over 610 km) in a Tesla Model S. Next: Exclusive! 2024 Chevy Blazer Review: The First-Ever All-Electric, All-Electric SUV
Platforms
If the Impala continues into the 11th generation, it is not yet known which platforms will be supported. However, the two obvious options are:
- The GM E2 platform can be shared with the third-generation Buick LaCrosse and ninth-generation Chevrolet Malibu.
- All GM front-drive vehicles share the GM VSSF platform (vehicle setup).
- No matter what platform the next Impala is built on, the front engine will be transversely mounted and drive the front wheels. An option for all-wheel drive is possible.
Production
Due to political, financial, and business factors, it is not yet clear where the next Chevy Impala will end up. Two factories currently produce the tenth-generation model:
- Detroit, Michigan USA (GM USA).
- GM Oshawa plant in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada (GM Canada)
Competitors
These are the main competitors for the Chevrolet Impala in the full-size mainstream segment:
- Ford Taurus
- Toyota Avalon
- Nissan Maxima
- Hyundai Azera
- Kia Cadenza
2024 Chevy Impala Price & Release Date
The starting price for the next Impala will increase from $27,000 (current tenth-generation model) to $30,000 or more. Despite this, Chevrolet Impala 2024 will not be produced. Chevy Detroit is expected to produce the Impala sedan in February 2023.
