General Motors is working on an SUV version of its Camaro muscle car. We expect it will reach production within the next few years. The news comes after a report that General Motors will release a Corvette SUV. Although we don’t have much information about the Camaro SUV, we believe it will be riding on GM’s Ultrium electric platform. This should please EV enthusiasts, although it might anger some muscle-car lovers. There could be two- or four-door versions of this vehicle.
The rendering below shows what an electric Camaro SUV with two doors might look like. GM is also expected to make the Camaro brand a Chevrolet subbrand. This will allow for more Camaro body styles including a sedan or an electric sports car. We hope the Camaro SUV will be offered as an affordable alternative to Corvette SUV, similarly to how the Camaro sports cars are positioned.
What’s new for 2025?
Camaro SUV is an entirely new product. It will likely be one of the 30 models GM plans to release by 2025. We expect it to be on the market in 2025 and will carry the same essence as the iconic Camaro coupe. It is likely to end after 2024.
We don’t know much about the electric Camaro SUV models yet, as they are still in production. We expect it will be more functional and potentially better than the gasoline-powered models.
A new all-electric Chevrolet Camaro model is set to debut in 2025. This new electric vehicle will not be a powerful two-door muscle car. It will instead have four doors. As GM transitions this name to a series of EVs, the new Camaro model will be the first in a series of new Camaro models.
Why is Chevy discontinuing Camaro?
The Camaro’s sales have fallen precipitously since 2019, just like any other vehicle. Although this muscle car is still a highly sought-after model, it’s not one that GM sells well. This performance icon might be rebranded.
Are the new Camaro models SUV-like?
We expect to see a 2+2 convertible and coupe in its place. The new model should be a four-door coupe-like car with a sloped roof. This might appeal to Camaro lovers who have long longed for more doors and more access to the rear. We expect to see two crossovers in addition to the cars that might bear this name. These crossovers could be available in both two-door or four-door body types. Both electric vehicles will be known as the Camaro.
Is there an electric version of the Chevrolet Camaro that could be used as a sports car?
The news report mentions a new sports car, which could be related to C9 Corvette’s arrival. This model could be a sports car at a middle price that has an all-electric motor to provide the car with the performance it needs. Don’t expect a Corvette body with the Camaro badge. Although the electric sports car version of the Corvette could have similar performance features, it won’t sport the same body.
What should we do to learn more about the GM subbrands?
According to GM Authority, the launch of the Corvette sub-brand could be in the 2025 calendar year. For the 2025 model year, Camaro models could arrive one year earlier. GM has not yet shared much information about the future of the Camaro and Escalade models. However, all three could be sub-brands or multi-model electric vehicles for GM.

The Electrifying Competition!
The 2025 Camaro EV has been in the news. However, Chevrolet isn’t the only company to offer an Electric version. The EV market is dominated by the Volvo and the Ford Mustang.
Volvo’s 2023 Volvo XC40 has been introduced with an MSRP price of $60,595. It has a serious speed of 403. There are 3 trim options available and it can go from 0-60 in just 4.8 seconds. The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E starts at $43,000 and has 2 electric motors that can produce 480hp combined. This SUV is fast, even for a muscle SUV. It can go from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
Exterior
It is amazing how fast an electric vehicle like Mustang Mach-E can go. The Volvo XC40 Recharge is an eco-friendly EV, which can be targeted at those with a lower budget.
Although the Blazer EV’s styling looks sharper and more futuristic, it doesn’t depart from the path of its gas-powered predecessor. The exterior styling of the 1LT trim comes with a monochromatic color scheme, 19-inch wheels, and a monochromatic color scheme. The RS comes with larger 21-inch wheels and black trim. Blazer EV’s most aggressive Blazer SS model comes with 22-inch wheels and two-tone paint.
Dual-element LED exterior lighting is available on the SS. The SS also features animated light sequences for drivers who are near the vehicle. Standard features include a full-LED light bar with an illuminated Chevy bowtie badge and an illuminated Chevy light bar. These lights provide a quick gauge of the state of charge, and Chevy claims they change depending upon the battery percentage.
Engine
There are four engines available for the Camaro. These engines will remain the same, but rumors suggest that a new engine might be available. The turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is the first, followed by a 3.6-liter V6. There are two 6.2-liter V8 engine options, with the top-of-the-line one featuring a supercharger. The power ranges between 275 horsepower and 650 horsepower. Rumors suggest that the Camaro could get the Corvette Z06’s V8 engine of 5.5-liters for 2025, with a new Z/28 model.
Safety is not a strong suit of the Camaro and will remain one of its weak points in the 2025 model year. Standard features include a rearview camera and Teen Driver. Optional features include forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors.
