2024 BMW X3: Is BMW X3 Worth Buying? The present model of the BMW X3 is nearly ready for an update since it has been on the market for five years. And after only recently making its debut in the world of spy shots, our covert photographers were once again able to catch this next-generation X3 proving its mettle out on the streets of Munich.
Even if the car’s body is still covered in a heavy layer of camouflage, there are certain elements that we can still make out, particularly in the front. The general appearance seems to be comparable to that of the newly unveiled X1, but with more elongated kidney grilles that are joined to one another and pointier headlamps.
Additionally, the wheel arches have become more boxy, and it wouldn’t surprise us in the least if this new model embraced the more angular body lines that are seen on many recent BMWs.
The window line also seems to have taken some design elements from the forthcoming XM flagship SUV in the shape of a chamfer that runs from the point of the window that is farthest to the rear and extends as a ledge over the car’s shoulder line all the way to the front of the vehicle.
In addition, more prominent fenders can be seen peering out from behind the camouflage, which is another characteristic that is shared with the XM.
There is not much to observe at the rear, other than a massive U-shaped depression in the bumper just below the tailgate. Other than that, there is nothing.
If we were to speculate, we would say that the end product would have a design that is comparable to that of the BMW X1, which has taillights that are pointed and angular and clear character lines that strongly define the bumper and hatch region.
Although there is presently no information available on the powertrain choices for the next-generation X3, we anticipate that it will be available in internal combustion engine (ICE), plug-in hybrid, and all-electric models.
It is also speculated that whenever it is released, which won’t be until 2024 at the earliest, this version of the X3 will be the last one to offer gas engines as an alternative powertrain choice. The lineup will ultimately expand to include M Performance and full-fledged M models, in addition to the X4 coupe’s related counterpart.
All-New 2024 BMW X3 Makes Rendering Debut After Being Spotted Testing
In the last week, there have been reports of an all-new version of the iconic BMW X3 being seen undergoing testing in several locations in Germany. Surprisingly, we have more information regarding the exterior design of the 4th-generation 2024 BMW X3 than we do about the engine itself.
Since 2017, manufacturers in South Carolina have been using a variant of the G01 that has proven to be highly effective. Production of this version began in 2017. It was given near-constant updates, such as mild-hybrid systems that were introduced to regular engines, the very first X3 M model, and a mid-life makeover that occurred a little over a year ago.
In order to maintain its competitive edge in the highly contested market for compact premium vehicles, BMW has already started testing the 2024 X3 model. This is due to the company’s commitment to innovation. Even more characteristic of a M model is its quad exhaust system, which was included in one of the prototypes.
The Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class in its second generation, which was only recently shown off to the public for the first time, will be a formidable rival for the BMW X3.
It is interesting to note that Daimer feels the X3 is not powered by the appropriate engine since the GLC is only available with 2.0-liter turbo systems, which most likely includes the forthcoming AMG variants. We are fortunate that BMW has told us that nothing of the such would occur with regard to the competitor.
Check out these two renderings from the website Kolesa if you want to get an idea of what the 2025 BMW X3 may look like if it didn’t have any camouflage covering it up. They demonstrate the compact sport utility vehicle from both the front and the back viewpoints. While some of the components are already known, others are very new.
This looks to have a more streamlined front end with significantly fewer apertures for the air intakes when seen from the front.
A design such as this makes it more likely that BMW will one day completely switch over to producing electric vehicles, and it also makes the move seem more organic. In contrast to a Tesla, however, the X3 has prominent grille apertures. The brand-new X1, which has only just been released to the public, provided the headlights.
When seen from the side, it is clear that the i4 and the iX had an impact on the design of the next-generation X3, which has aero wheels and door handles that are flush with the body. The cladding and sharp lines of the 2003 X3 give it the appearance of an enraged warthog when compared to other vehicles.
At last, we’ve arrived at the rear end of the X3, which, like the rest of the vehicle, borrows heavily from previous BMW models. It has taillights created in 3D that are considerably more slender and it has a roof that slopes like a wagon, much like the XM.
The development of the 2024 BMW X3, which still has a great deal of testing to go, is just getting started. It’s possible that we’ll learn more information over time, but at this moment, we can say with a high degree of certainty that there will be electric variants available.
There is talk of putting an end to the use of internal combustion engines in Europe, and it is anticipated that electric vehicle versions of the Porsche Macan and the Audi Q5 will be available within the next few years.
2024 BMW X3 Design
Since the BMW X3 2024 will have a comprehensive overhaul, we anticipate several innovations across a variety of categories. Consequently, thinking about the platform is one of the first things that comes to mind. According to the information that we have so far, the next generation will be based on a revised version of the CLAR architecture that is now in use, and we anticipate that this will result in different enhancements.
Even if the current generation is already fairly good in terms of ride quality, one of the things that comes to mind is a new suspension configuration, which could enhance the ride quality even more. Another thing that comes to mind is a decrease in weight.
Naturally, we are also placing our hopes in the updated style. The test mule has been seen driving on German roads, and even though it is well camouflaged, it nevertheless reveals some of the vehicle’s aesthetic details. According to what we have seen so far, most of the changes will be evolutionary.
It’s possible that the majority of prospective purchasers will be glad to learn that the new grille won’t be quite as large as the one on the 4 Series. Instead, in comparison to the one that is now being used, it will seem rather bigger and bolder. We may claim that it would have a design that was conceptually analogous to the one found in the X1 model.
The total size won’t probably shift all that much, and neither will the general form, at least not to the extent that we anticipate it would. We count on comparable dimensions, which also implies that the amount of internal space should stay quite similar, which is certainly a wonderful thing to hear. We look forward to hearing about these similarities.
Interior
As was previously said, the dimensions of the next-generation 2024 BMW X3 should be relatively unchanged from those of the model that is now available. As a result, we anticipate that the new model will provide a comparable amount of capacity for both passengers and goods.
That’s fantastic news, especially taking into account the fact that the current generation already has one of the class’s cabins that ranks among the roomiest in its category. It has a couple of rows of chairs that are fairly roomy and can easily accommodate people in both of those rows. In addition to this, you can rely on having one of the biggest cargo bays available in the class.
On the other hand, the overall look of the cabin will be entirely redesigned. You may anticipate a more contemporary design, accented by large displays and other cutting-edge technological accouterments.
As is typical for BMW, the quality of the materials and the construction should be at a very high level. In addition, we anticipate that the new model will be rather liberal in terms of the amount of standard and optional equipment it offers.
2024 BMW X3 Engines
Even if the majority of the engines that are already in use are about to be equipped with one, we believe that the emphasis will be placed on electrification when it comes to the powertrain. Nevertheless, each and every one of them should be equipped with a mild hybrid system, which would not only improve the vehicle’s fuel efficiency but would also result in increased power and torque.
Therefore, the basic versions will continue to have a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which will most likely have somewhat more power than the 248-hp version that is now available. The same can be said about the inline-six engine, which has a maximum output of around 382 horsepower at the moment.
Last but not least, there is the M model, which is equipped with a wide variety of enhancements. One of them is a twin-turbo inline-six engine, which, in its basic configuration, generates 473 horsepower and, in the M Competition version, generates 503 horsepower.
